Revenant movie review is a single-piece article where I will cover the “Revenant” in more detail and talk about its excellency.
Revenant is a 2015 American western epic that is all about revenge. Thus, one of the best revenge movies. Alejandro G. Inarritu directed the movie and co-wrote it with the help of Mark L. Smith. The movie features stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter.
It is about a man who is left for dead by his colleagues after a grizzly bear’s already deadly attack. It is partly based on true events that happened, partly based on the book that first recalled it.
I honestly don’t know where to start. But one thing I am damn sure of is that no matter what I start with. The movie will come through.
However, on that note, it is important to mention the best part of what makes this movie one of the best movies about revenge, but also an incredible masterpiece is its cinematography.
Using only natural lights, Emmanuel Lubezki could not only convey how beautiful the American frontier was but also how harsh and unfriendly nature can be. This revenant movie review would not have enough to words to describe it in all of its glory.
Shooting with natural lights mean that every single person involved in the process are actually physically in those locations, shooting, acting, doing whatever their job is regardless of the discomfort. Thus, “A-good-job must follow, for they all deserve it.
The other best thing about the movie is its acting, particularly, Leo’s which is top-notch. One can effortlessly understand how much effort it took. For example, learning a whole new language to portray the character to the best of possibilities is the edge not many actors would go for.
Revenant Movie Review
It is definitely one of the best revenge movies with such incredible acting and never-seen-before scenery. One that is definitely worth the Oscar.
It is not just Leo though that carries the movie forward. Acting all around is worthy showmanship that is really worth watching. Hardy’s in particular is one that is a perfectly fine one. He does have this thing when he tries to have a bold voice and ruthless character in a lot of his roles.
That is something familiar fans will notice. But it’s one of those sweat familiar things that is nice to see fit the movie and its theme. Thus, the cast was chosen rightly. The direction, which tells a lot about its director’s decisions.
My personal impressions were positive from the get-go. Watching the first two minutes of the movie I already understood it would be a beautiful experience. Rich with natural lightings, the top actings, one-of-a-kind cinematography, and an unapologetic revenge story that is going to give me the true taste of what cinema has to be.
Revenant is the movie that put Iniarritu’s name on the top of the Hollywood list of best creative directors. Of course, it was not his first Oscar nor was it his first great film. But this was when his name probably became publicly pronounceable.
I personally learned to pronounce his name with Birdman, but this put his name in my mind for the rest of the times to come and to follow his work. I enjoyed revenant so much that, no matter what he is going to come up with, I will always be looking out and be watching it.
